Staff at a jewellers have told of the terrifying moment raiders attacked them with ammonia and designed off with 1000's of kilos worthy of of merchandise.
Carrying a hammer, the robbers stormed David Hall Goldsmiths on Gosforth Superior Street, Newcastle, previous to attacking personnel with the noxious substance.
Following smashing a exhibit cabinet located in the window of the premises, the thugs produced off with rings considered to be value involving kilos 40,000 to pounds 50,000.
Police have been in these days hunting the two robbers immediately after they left two retail outlet assistants needing hospital treatment method.
And as officers appealed for witnesses to arrive ahead, staff at the store informed of their horror.
Courageous assistant Paul Mason, who was sprayed in the deal with and was taken to Newcastle's RVI, nonetheless managed to chase just after the pair as they fled down an alleyway in the vicinity of to the retail outlet. Retail outlet employee David Turner was also taken to hospital and the remaining 5 employees had been uninjured.
Shop assistant Margaret Smith, 59, says: "I was just walking into the front of the retail outlet. I seemed up and I noticed these two guys. Just one pulled a scarf in excess of his confront and sprayed ammonia in the shop.

The robbers prepared off down an alleyway involving Adriana's takeaway and Ahad Indian restaurant. Paul, along with goldsmith Aaron O'Reilly, 27, who was also doing work at the shop, chased the attackers down the road.
Aaron reported: "We ran when them but we couldn't see a factor in the store given that of all the ammonia. They ran off down the lane and towards the park. They should have had a automotive parked somewhere down there to get away."
Police are now carrying out inquiries into the incident to trace the culprits.
Det Insp Don Gibson, Newcastle CID, stated: "We have been labeled as this early morning following a report of a robbery at a jewellers in Gosforth. Officers are now at the scene and we are generating extensive inquiries into the incident in an hard work to trace the two adult males responsible.
"This involves speaking to witnesses, checking CCTV and following a great number of lines of inquiry. The investigation is in the relatively early stages and I will need to emotional stress that we are nevertheless making an attempt to create the specific conditions.
"An incident these kinds of as this in the Gosforth spot is strange and we would like to reassure many people that we're performing everything attainable to trace these two males."
